Permanent position: Service Center Manager opening with a client that provides electrical commissioning and start-up services on mission-critical infrastructure technologies for vital applications in data centers, communication networks and commercial and industrial environments. Based out of the Carlsbad, CA area this hands on position will be responsible for the business, managerial and technical direction of the service center to include general supervision for Field Engineers and Technicians. This position is bonus eligible. Local candidates preferred although relocation may be considered for highly qualified candidates.

Responsibilities for the Service Manager

  • Responsible for the sales, profit, and quality of the area operation

  • Work with the Region Director, Regional Sales Manager and Marketing Services to promote new business

  • Hold periodic regular management committee meetings to promote effective communication and review business progress

  • Responsible for the general supervision, safety and technical training of Field Engineers and Technicians

  • Coordinate technical training for field personnel and assist with career development

  • Develop and review proposals, and review reports of field engineers

  • Work in the field on job sites as needed

  • Other duties as needed and required

Requirements for the Service Manager

  • Four-year degree or graduate of Electrical Technical School or Military equivalent, BSEE/BSEET preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, writing and verbally, with clients, peers, subordinates and management.

  • Approximately 10 or more years same or similar work experience in the Industrial Service Industry.

  • Previous hands-on electrical testing experience on electrical equipment associated with mission-critical infrastructure technologies in data centers, communication networks and commercial and industrial environments.

  • Strong computer skills including editing, formatting and using templates in Microsoft Word, use of Internet for standards/products/manufacturer research and operation of computer controlled test equipment

  • High degree of communication, supervisory, organizational and good management skills

  • Willing to do some overnight travel to cover field region and attend company meetings
