  • The Senior Data Engineer contractor will have 5 or more years of data engineering experience, including extract, transform, load (ETL) data ingestion and distribution operations, and experience in designing, maintaining, and providing support for operational data stores, data marts, data lakes, and data warehouses.

  • The Senior Data Engineer will ensure data accuracy, availability, integrity, and confidentiality, and evaluate new data systems and technologies for possible adoption and improvements to performance of existing applications.


  • Requires experience in data database, data store, data mart, data lakes and data warehouse design and operations, and business systems design and engineering.

  • Requires skills in developing ETL code and in modern programming languages, including Structured Query Language (SQL), Microsoft (MS) VB.NET, MS C#.NET, MS SQL Server, MS SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), MS SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), MS ASP.NET, MS Internet Information Server (IIS), HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, application life cycle management, MS Visual Studio and Team Foundation Services (TFS), Microsoft SQL Server BI stack including SQL Server (2012 +), Oracle Golden Gate, and structured query language database servers.

  • Has both the ability to work independently and as a team with data analysts, scientists, data engineers and other stakeholders.

  • Requires a bachelor's or master’s degree in a related information technology field.

  • Prior experience working in the NSW community is highly desired.

  • Must be motivated, self-driven team player who can interact well with others and advise/consult with other team members on related issues

  • Must have excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Will be required to undergo and pass applicable background checks.

  • In accordance with DoD 8570.01; Candidate must meet the Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II requirements by having one of the following certifications: GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Sec, Cissp, Cisa, CASP, GCIH, GSEC, or GCED)
