Job Purpose:

Provides project and administrative support to the Accounting Department

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

(Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time)

  • Provides administrative and clerical support to the Accounting Department by composing departmental reports, correspondence and interoffice memos according to instructions, creating, organizing and maintaining department filing systems and archives, creating and revising departmental forms and documents, and collecting, sorting and distributing department mail. - 20%

  • Assists accounting department staff by preparing, verifying and updating month end schedules, filing journal entries in numerical order, maintaining general ledger binders, and distributing approved documents to appropriate departments following established procedures. - 20%

  • Provides initial guest service by greeting visitors and team members in a friendly and courteous manner, screening and directing team members and visitors to the appropriate staff members, and coordinating the disposal of sensitive company documents with other departments. - 20%

  • Provides the Payroll Department with an accurate accounting of the staffs time and attendance by entering staff schedule information for each shift in the timekeeping database, printing out a weekly schedule, entering schedule adjustments according to established procedures, auditing time off request and adjustment forms for proper completion and appropriate signatures, and entering requests and adjustments in the database. - 20%

  • Maintains an adequate stock of departmental supplies by auditing stock on hand, processing approved purchase order requisitions according to established procedures, and receiving and storing supplies. - 10%

  • Maintains a professional department image by consistently communicating and presenting information in a professional manner in team member and business interactions. - 10%

Job Specifications:

Education and Experience:


  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.

  • 3 years administration experience


  • Accounting experience

  • Casino experience

Skills and Knowledge:


  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

  • Ability to interact effectively with guests, vendors and team members

  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and assignments

  • Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to accept constructive criticism

  • Ability to maintain filing systems

  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations

  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language

  • Ability to complete forms, documents and written reports

  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure

  • Working knowledge of MS Word

  • Working knowledge of MS Excel

  • Ability to sit for up to eight hours at a time

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Ability to appear for work on time


  • Multilingual

  • Kronos timekeeping software experience
