Under direct supervision applies professional software concepts and department/unit and campus, medical center or Office of the President policies and procedures to small projects or portions of projects. Resolves routine programming problems. Works on issues and projects of limited scope. Follows standard programming procedures to analyze situations and data from which answers can be readily obtained.
Knowledge relating to the design development, modification and implementation of software including object-oriented programming concepts.
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of web site design, testing and implementation, including use of HTML and active elements within server pages. Proven ability to maintain servers, pages, and related infrastructures.
Strong experience with web site programming as well as development of system requirements and system design. Experience in all aspects of web site development, web site testing, execution of testing and error reporting.
Proven ability to interface between web application and relational databases, particularly DB2, MS-SQL, Mysql , MonggoDB, MariaDB.
Knowledge of current standards for Internet security including SSL.
Expert level computer skills using MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, email system, and a variety of web-based programs. Demonstrated ability to create and maintain databases, perform complex computer tasks, learn new programs/applications with minimal direction, and demonstrated commitment to update/maintain technology skills with relevant computer software.
Ability to express verbally or in writing, information on one’s position, plan of action, evaluation or interpretation in a professional, logical, clear, effective, concise, and courteous manner.
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, take ownership of work performance, follow through on assignments, and anticipate, identify, and analyze problems and resolve or recommend course of action for resolution as appropriate.
Strong time management, organizational and follow-up skills to prioritize and complete tasks and projects within set timelines. Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines, maintain quality and accuracy, and adapt to changing priorities.
Excellent interpersonal skills. Possess skills of tact, poise, diplomacy, confidentiality and flexibility. Ability and willingness to work independently and/or in a team framework in conjunction with principles of community and with a diverse population of staff, faculty, industry and others. Ability to effectively contribute to discussions regarding procedures and goals of unit.
