  • Summary *

Interviewing patients for medical, follow-up on pending accounts, admitting and discharge patients.

Our department is I/P and O/P Admitting/Discharging, benefit checks and a staff of 14 team members. Our department helps self-pay patients apply for Medi-Cal and Low Income Health insurance. We work close with Intake, UR, and all other units.

As the largest behavioral health care provider in San Diego with 149 beds, Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital provides a full range of programs to people of all ages including children, adolescents, adults and seniors challenged by depression, substance abuse or serious mental illness. Sharp Mesa Vista provides inpatient care and offer outpatient programs throughout the community.

Required SKills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Two years experience in the following areas: business service, setting, collections, billing, account follow-up and admitting

  • Proficient with computer skills

  • Proficient with Typing Skills of 35-40 words per minute

  • Strong communication skills both oral and written

  • Demonstrates ability to be a team player

  • Strong customer service skills

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
