Sharp HealthCare Decedent Affairs Coordinator in San Diego, California

Summary

This Decedent Affairs Coordinator is responsible for a variety of administrative and clerical functions that ensures the day-to-day operations of Decedents Affairs for the system. This person will be responsible for death registration with county and state, education at the facilities, support to the staff and Administrative Liaison, and support to families surrounding this event. They will have daily interaction with Administrative Liaisons and Staff at all facilities and physicians daily. He/she will work with a number of professionals, regulatory staff, and outside community mortuaries.

The department staff at all facilities is responsible for the deaths on their floor with the Administrative Liaison having the accountability all is done according to policy and procedure. They contact the decedent affair coordinator on any death and work directly with the Decedent affairs coordinator on each death.

This position is located in Serra Mesa, CA of San Diego County

Hours

8-hour shift; 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, must be able to work various hours based on business needs, weekends as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to speak compassionately with families as this position will be supporting families surrounding this event.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of death registration/certification.

  • Some college.
