Job Description

Position Summary:

Responsible for maintaining quality-assurance processes, inspecting products, developing and scheduling internal audits and investigating quality related issues. Must follow through on set processes and ensure adherence to best quality assurance practices and product quality standards, as well as monitor the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of product output.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and coordinate files, records and other documents that apply to department records.

  • Contact person for sterilization process at San Diego site; certificate verification.

  • Control/Monitor CR (customer return) & 1Q2 (quarantine/non-conformities/containment) location for Distribution Center.

  • Maintains sample retains by organizing for immediate retrieval.

  • Participate in product and process validations as requested

  • Supply data for generation of performance metrics as assigned

  • Inspect customer returned product for complaint verification and investigation.

  • Work with various departments as needed to investigate product quality issues.

  • Support the Quality Assurance Team to ensure successful completion of continuous improvement projects

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Release finish good product per Switch Rule process

  • Sample preparation and all incoming inspections

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in engineering or science, or appropriate experience in a related discipline

  • Must be meticulous in their work, skilled in quality processes and statistical techniques, and knowledgeable about measurement and test equipment (MT&E) and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) concepts, according to the ASQ.

  • Attention to detail and an aptitude for working with data are pluses, and a solid grasp of the sciences and basic engineering concepts is helpful.

  • Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

  • Experience with laboratory environment, equipment and safety procedures.

  • Acute attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required.

  • Proficient in MS Office 2013

  • Ability to lift 25lbs.
