Job Overview

Qualcomm IT is looking for Sr.Manager Global Networking based in San Diego to lead a team of experienced Network Engineers. This team is responsible for providing Tier 3 support for Qualcomm global network that span across 5 continents and over 100 offices. The team is responsible for design, architecture, implementation and operations of LAN, WAN, Wireless and lab services. As Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of Network engineers local in San Diego and provide guidance/mentorship to engineers in India, Ireland, China and Taiwan.

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Former Tech support and Network Engineer experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to automate basic tasks in Perl, Python and understanding of DevOps

  • Experience in SDWAN, Routing Protocols, SDN, ITIL, Automation and Telemetry

  • Working independently with little supervision.

  • Providing supervision to direct reports.

  • Making decisions that are significant in impact, influencing overall program or project success, finances, and/or the ability to meet objectives; Errors are not readily apparent due to the complexity of work process/product or time between decisions and results; Errors typically result in significant expenditure of time, resources, and funds to correct.

  • Using verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels. May require strong negotiation and influence, communication to large groups or high-level constituents.

  • Some financial accountability (e.g., manages a small budget, has input into P&L).

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of IT-relevant work experience OR 9+ years of IT-relevant work experience without a bachelors degree.

4+ years experience leading projects/programs.

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years supervisory or leadership experience in IT.

CCNA/CCNP/CCIE certifications a plus.
